Brafer's headquarters is located in Araucária, Paraná, a city in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, covering 130,000 m². Our branch is in Rio de Janeiro, with a factory of 70,000 m². Our commercial activities are concentrated in our office in São Paulo, SP. 
 
We employ around 1,200 employees: a specialized team to execute high-complexity projects, whether at our facilities or in assembly yards spread across Brazil. 
Our production capacity is 40,000 tons per year, with an in-house galvanizing plant, extensive painting area, and overhead cranes with a capacity of up to 100 tons.

After detailing design, the drawings of each part that will make up the steel structures arrive at the hands of production professionals at the factory. To manage the production, we use specially developed software for Steel Structures, which integrates all stages of project execution, from planning to shipment, ensuring 100% of the materials used in each part are tracked and allowing real-time monitoring of the status of each project. Cutting, drilling, bending, erecting, welding, finishing. We fabricate steel structures using state of the art technologies on the market.

ENGINEERING AND PROJECTS

MANUFACTURING 

The result is 3D modeling – made with Tekla and Tecnometal software, also with integrated BIM technology – that is ready to be received by our factory team, who work on CNC machinery. Brafer's detail design team is made up of several employees, some of them with over 20 years of experience in steel structures.

Brafer's Engineering and Detail Design sector is where the project begins the process of coming off the drawing board (or computer) and becoming a reality. If the project has not yet had its structural calculation done, our Engineering team will do so, using the most modern calculation software with integrated BIM technology. When the project has already had its structural calculation done by the client, the Detail Design professionals come into action, and are responsible for transforming that structural project into manufacturing and erecting drawings.

METALLIZATION&nbsp;Complementing the galvanization process, to finish all the parts, we have 4 Metco metallization guns. Metallizing is a coating process in which molten metals are sprayed onto a surface. Electric Arc or Flame Metallization are coating processes that only a few companies are equiped to offer in Brazil. For Brafer clients, both are available. The infrastructure of our galvanizing plant also includes a road scale with a capacity of 80 tons and two suspended scales used to record production. In our testing laboratory, we check, control and certify the quality, thickness and mass of the hot-dip zinc plating on steel, under the most varied environmental conditions. The entire process is controlled through chemical analysis tests, ensuring the quality of the products we use.&nbsp;

Our production capacity is 2,500 tons per month, and it is possible to galvanize parts up to 13m long, according to their geometry and with a maximum weight of 4 tons. The main objective of hot-dip galvanizing is to provide the base steel with adequate protection against corrosion, which is the most versatile and economical way to protect steel for long periods. After going through a preparation process in the pre-treatment tanks, the part is immersed in a vat containing molten zinc at 460°C. Our vat is 9m long by 1m wide and 1.70m deep. Brafer's hot-dip galvanizing services are measured in accordance with the ABNT, ASTM conditions and standards or at the client's discretion and instruction of other standards.

GALVANIZING 

PAINTINGTo finish and protect parts against corrosion.&nbsp;At Brafer, a large area is set up to carry out preparation services for painting and application of various types of intumescent paints and coatings.&nbsp;There are several painting sheds with a heating system on the floor, as well as auxiliary painting areas, equipped with bridges and gantry cranes.&nbsp;The painting team has exclusive rooms for mixing and preparing the paints.&nbsp;We have N1 and N2 qualified painting inspectors available.

BLASTINGPreparation of the part to receive the paint. Before applying layers of paint to the part, it must go through a blasting process, which will remove dirt, grease and other residues accumulated during the manufacturing process.&nbsp;At this stage, tiny steel spheres (shot) are launched against the surface, through extreme high-pressure nozzles. In the blasting areas, we have blasting cabins, as well as 2 automatic blasting machines with 10 turbines.&nbsp;At Brafer, we have approximately 20,000m² of area dedicated to Blasting and Painting processes.

BLASTING AND PAINTING

Além de vasta formação técnica, a maioria dos profissionais do setor da Qualidade da Brafer é certificada por organismos do Sistema Nacional de Certificação (SNQC).&nbsp;Quality and compliance monitoring takes place through sizing tests, non-destructive welding tests, such as visual welding, magnetic particles, penetrating liquid and ultrasound. In addition to extensive technical training, the majority of professionals in the Brafer Quality sector are certified by bodies within the National Certification System (SNQC).&nbsp;The main instruments we use are 100% calibrated and first-rate, and traceable by the Brazilian Calibration Network (RBC). All documents, records, instrument calibration certificates (used in the manufacturing sectors) and reports generated in the production process are gathered and organized in the Data-Book, a hard and/or electronic copy of which is delivered to the client at the end of the structure manufacturing process, in accordance with contractual requirements and applicable standards.

In order to provide steel structure projects for the largest industries in Brazil and around the world, Brafer must meet strict quality standards and regulations.&nbsp;We are ISO 9001 certified, with our quality attested internationally. The main objective of the quality process is to ensure the compliance of the fabricated structures.&nbsp;This is done by monitoring manufacturing processes, meeting client requirements, direct interactions on the factory floor and with managers.

QUALITY

This way, it is possible to pin processes and prepare schedules effectively and reliably. Brafer's shipping and logistics sector has cranes with a capacity of up to 100 tons, mobile cranes and all the necessary equipment to make our production process efficient and safe.

Shipping Management is the department responsible for the internal logistics of work in progress and shipment of the finished parts to the final destination/client. At Brafer, we have developed an electronic system with which it is possible to identify and track each part.

It has already reached more than 155,000 tons of erected steel structures and almost 7-million man-hours over the last 13 years.
