We fully recognize the impact that our operations can have on the ecosystem, and we are constantly seeking ways to shape our practices to be more sustainable and less harmful. We believe that every step counts, and that is why we are proud to share some of our sustainability initiatives.

Certified by the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard, Brafer strives to maintain a balance between our activities and respect for nature. A concrete example of this is our Permanent Preservation Area, spanning 20 hectares, located near Brafer Araucária. In this space, we preserve a variety of native species, contributing to the region’s biodiversity.

Furthermore, we are deeply committed to reforestation. Since 2006, we have implemented a continuous reforestation program on the grounds of our headquarters. The goal is to restore areas that were previously deforested and replace exotic species, such as eucalyptus, with native ones. A notable example of this effort is the planting of the Araucaria Pine, also known as Paraná Pine, a species threatened with extinction. This initiative is led by our Environmental Management Supervisor, Adalto Kuduavski.

The motivation behind the reforestation goes beyond environmental compensation. Every department of our company is involved, and the intention is to enhance the working environment for all. We have already achieved significant milestones, with approximately 300 native tree saplings planted at Brafer, including those brought by our engaged employees.

The growth of trees and native vegetation not only benefits our ecosystem but also protects crucial areas for the company, such as Arroio 5, a tributary of the Barigui River that runs through our facility. This protection is a key part of our long-term vision.
